Children’s Learn to Swim Program | Holsworthy Aquatic Centre

Learn to Swim at Holsworthy Aquatic Centre

At Holsworthy Aquatic Centre, our Learn to Swim program is designed for children of all abilities—from first-time swimmers to those refining their technique with stroke correction.
Our structured, skill-based approach means your child will progress through levels by mastering essential swimming and water safety skills at their own pace. This ensures lasting confidence and competence in the water.
We pride ourselves on creating a fun, safe, and encouraging environment where children can thrive. With the guidance of our qualified instructors, your child will build strong foundations for a lifetime of safe and confident swimming.
"I can hardly believe my daughter went from barely being able to do a thing, to recently swimming a 50m race at her school swimming carnival, and all this achieved in only 10 months. Swimming all year long was just brilliant for her - that consistent effort paid off and I highly recommend not only HAC, but sticking to the sport all year round. The benefits are worth it!" - Joan Murphy
“I am forever indebted to the team of Holsworthy Swimming Centre, for teaching my children the lifesaving skill of swimming, and teaching them to both love and respect the water. Whilst I would never leave my children unattended near water, I am confident that my eldest children, could save themselves in the event that they were to accidently fall into water. " - Kirindy Barnaby

Swimming Lesson Levels & Progression Guide

That’s why our Seahorse level is designed to create a safe, fun, and supportive environment for beginners of all confidence levels. With small class sizes (maximum 4 per class), your child receives the individual attention they need to feel comfortable and succeed in the water. Seals level

Some children may feel hesitant to move from our Parent & Baby classes into the independent Seahorse level—and that’s completely okay. Likewise, some parents may prefer to stay in the water a little longer to support their child’s learning journey. That’s why we created the Seals Class. This unique class bridges the gap by allowing a Parent or Carer to stay in the pool and actively assist their child throughout the lesson. Children learn the same skills as the Seahorse level, but with the added comfort and support of their trusted adult by their side. This hands-on approach helps:Reinforce the lesson contentBuild water confidenceSupport emotional comfortEncourage skill development through guided practiceOnce both parent and child feel comfortable with the lesson structure and expectations, we encourage parents to gradually step back, allowing the child to transition smoothly into the independent Seahorse class, supported by our experienced instructors.
